LEANDRO
Leandro Coelho is a music director and voice teacher currently based in New York City. He also serves as a Music Supervisor for Norwegian Cruise Line. He was born and raised in South Africa, and moved to the U.S. in December 2000. He performed in many musicals in High School, and has been the piano accompanist/conductor/vocal coach/music director for several musical theatre shows since then. Some shows include, Godspell, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, All Shook Up, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Beauty and the Beast, Seussical the Musical, Crazy for You, High School Musical, The Wedding Singer, as well as multiple musical theater revues in Atlanta and San Diego.
Leandro graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with Voice as his emphasis. He had the privilege of studying voice under Dr. John Craig Johnson, who is hailed as a "master of vocal technique" by San Diego newpapers. Before moving to New York, Leandro taught private voice lessons in Atlanta for 2 years. During that time, several of his students auditioned and received callbacks for major Broadway shows such as:
The Addams Family, Tuck Everlasting, Annie, Matilda, Fly, Ragtime and Violet.

Where to start? Leandro Coelho is a powerhouse combination of talent, knowledge, wisdom, and experience. His creativity, organization, excellent keyboard skills, arranging genius, and vocal stylings make him the best of the best Music Directors I've ever known or that you'll ever work with. As a Vocal Coach I give him my highest recommendation. Leandro gets vocal technique. He understands musical theatre singing across genres and has a no-messing-around approach that allows singers to tap into their best, freest, and most dynamic vocalism possible. All of this and he's one of the nicest, most passionate and hilarious guys I've ever known.
